DC Fights Mold at Almond Ranch
February 26, 2021Plants are constantly exposed to the elements. Rainfall, irrigation and sunlight all play a part in diseases and how to control them. Diseases can cause decay of the flower or fruit. In minor cases you can remove branches, but in major cases the whole tree is killed and must be removed to prevent spreading to rest of crops. Natural plant fungicide can help to fight these threats.
Common Diseases in crops:
- Bacterial Blast
- Bacterial Leaf Spot
- Blight
- Powdery Mildew
- Downy Mildew
- Bread Mold
- Brown Rot
- Black Rot
- Rust
Crop diseases threaten nut and fruit crops all over the USA. They have a high contribution to the loss of viable crops in the United States, with 40-50% of crop loss to diseases worldwide.
DC Field trial at Catherine Brown Almond Ranch
Sierra Natural Science has worked with Catherine Brown’s farm since 2017. We have assisted Catherine during early hull split to curate bread mold, and with brown rot issues on their almond trees, which contributed to a serious issue with stick tights. We sprayed 55 acres with organic disease control concentrate (1 gallon of DC per acre).
“I have used Disease Control in different sections of our Almond orchard over the past 3 years [2017 to now] and have noticed a more successful nut removal during shake in those sections. I now use Disease Control in the entire orchard. I am very pleased with this product.” – Catherine Brown
SNS’s Organic Disease & Fungal Control product penetrates the microbial cell wall and builds a protective coating against the elements, thus keeping the active ingredients available longer to use against the microbes. Natural preservatives are used to stop decomposition of the plant cell wall, adding an active natural healing action to the plant not just a controlling action against microbes.
Sierra Natural Science has successfully helped many growers across the US to solve their disease & fungal issues, increase yields, and lower their costs of fungicides and antibacterial. View our blog to get more tips on natural weed killers and fungicides.
